Beskrivelse: Gynandromorph in House Sparrow, where bird's right side as in female and left as in male. And seeing from the side looks like a typical male or female. Cap is greyer on male side and browner female side.
Beskrivelse: A very long way to tick this species from Belgium. Brussels/Stockholm/Helsinki (Flights) + Helsinki / Turku / Pärnäs (3,5h drive) + Pärnäs / Utö (5h in icebreaker boat)
The bird was seen only 3 times during Saturday Feb 2 (max 10 minutes). Sunday the bird was not seen ... So it's not an easy twitch this time and to go there only one day is a real risk to fail.
Pictures of the all trip is visible on my website with some other nice birds as Capercaillie, Three-toed & White-backed Woodpeckers, etc...
PS: a special thanks to my friends Markku Santamaa & Kari Haataja who they help me a lot to make this trip a succes.
Beskrivelse: Winter solistice, the darkest day of the year. Snow showers. ISO 500, 1/100sec, handheld.
Possibly the same bird as in Estonia, Haapsalu, which has not been seen for a few days until the same species appeared in UTÖ 150km WNW.
