Beskrivelse: At least 130 Crab-plovers were seen in Hamata Mangroves on this date. Perhaps on the largest counts ever from Egypt, but not the largest, e.g. were 144 birds seen in Hamata Mangroves in September 2003.
In 2010 a breeding colony of Crab-plover was found on small sandy islets off Marsa Shaab, south of Shalatein.

Hi there!
The name was correct from the beginning as well, even if the uploaded information only included the English and the Latin name. Just because the Danish name is excluded that does not mean that the naming is incorrect, now does it? Of course, it's a good thing you added it though. Furthermore, the reason for me not choosing the English name from your scroll list, and instead adding it as a title, is that the name is misspelt in the list. It is supposed to be spelt without a hyphen between 'Crab' and 'Plover'. Hyphens are only used for bird names such as 'black-shouldered', 'white-fronted', etcetera, not for names such as Crab Plover. Just an interesting sidetrack.

Beskrivelse: Swedish birders Johannes Rydström (left) and Markus Tallroth, practising some mud crawling while approaching the Crab Plovers. But it was well woth it, one can say they obtained more than "some crappy record shots"... :-)
