Titel: The Mockingbird clearly and persistant didn't like the Caracara to stay in this area
Beskrivelse: The Caracara is most likely a sub-adult bird soon in it's 2. year (brownish, but with yellow legs, - not pale). Left wing was somehow injured, not folded normally along the body - but it seemed alright and was flying and searching for food in a normal rutine.

Beskrivelse: This state park is worth a visit - realy great birding i.e. Golden-cheeked Warbler. Relatively easy and guided acces in most of the area. Wild Turkey is easy to spot - and the park supports the habitat favoured by the turkeys.

Titel: Lucy's Warbler is about the only warbler breeding in the 'hot deserts' in SW- USA. It can seem very plain gray as here, but there is some brown on the upper tail - and the male has a small brown crown. Here as typical seen in mesquite not yet leafed out.

Titel: Nuttall's is almost a California endem related to oak- and cottonwoods. The close relative Ladder-backed Woodpecker is found in arid areas in Arizona and east to Texas. They can inter-breed, but they hardly overlap.
Beskrivelse: 2 ID factors relevant for both sexes are:
- prominent black in the pattern of the cheek in Nuttall's - while this is opposite in Ladder-backed. Also the upper back of Nuttall's is plain black - while Ladder-backed have white bars al the way up to the neck.
