Beskrivelse: "Owl" (old english "ule") and danish "ugle" are words of Indo-european etymology. (Sanskrik = "ulluk", "ululih" = howling). In India today owls are under serious threat, particularly by their use in black magic, accrding to a new report from WWF´s wildlife trade monitoring network, TRAFFIC-INDIA.
In a seperate development the country´s environment minister has condemned a "Harry Potter" craze that has wealthy parents in large numers buying them as pets for their children.
Beskrivelse: Photo taken during the Global Bird Watchers' conference organyzed in Jamnagar city to promote Gujarat as a birding destination. They've invited for this events over 100 foreign birdwatchers, photographers, nature travel agency, with full accomodations arranged. Was a really nice opportunity to be there and this is a fantastic place for birding.
I guess this a Spotted Owlet Athen brama or else it's far away from home! Another posibility is of cause that the locality is wrong!
Good birding from Feehaar
Hermed rettet.
