Beskrivelse: Not seen very often, but Cranes can and do swim - and not that bad. They make a good speed. The young birds not able to fly (for the first 9-11 weeks) do swim a good deal if growing up i.e. at a lake shore to escape dangers or to feed. In that period the adult birds swim along with the juvenile birds. Beside this situation Cranes does not seem to swim. Here at 'our' lake the birds were seen swimming every evening on their way back to the nesting island in the little lake. Fist weeks two offspring, but this weekend - only one left.
