Beautifully captured, this artistic rendering of one of our most threatened species is quite simply a joy to behold.
Not only is this bird on the brink of extinction (holy agriculture!), but it must also endure a most silly danish name.
Many birders still call it "gate-lark" even though KMO and P.S (to mention but a few) have -largely in vain - tried to advocate a return to the formerly widely accepted Corn Bunting. In the rest of the world (of course) the genus-name is inherent in the national name....we did win in football in 1986 and we might win the dubious honor of "The most Silly National Birdnames contest"
Regards
Peter
