Beskrivelse: Red-headed Bunting: One of the most common species in the southeast Kopetdag. Birds observed in the same are were Rock Bunting, Eastern Orphean Warbler (common), Lesser Whitethroat, Nightingale, Variable Wheatear, Finch's Wheatear, Eastern Rock Nuthatch, Siberian Stonechat, Turkestan Shrikes (more hybrids seen on the tour... more about it when I have time), Chukar, etc.
Beskrivelse: Migration peaked medio-ultimo April 2013 for this species in Turkmenistan. Rare in Eastern Central Asia, but in Turkmenistan we found it to be common in parks and deciduous forests. Sometimes amazingly common with 4-5 birds together within 25m, and we constantly heard its short sort of wren-like "serrrt"-call. We had more than 100 birds at 3 locations, and even without including speciemens heard here & there.
