Beskrivelse: This first winter Shag was found sitting on the beach around 8 pm, November 12, 2000 and was caught using a flashlight. This was probably only the second ever Shag to be ringed in Denmark. It was kept over night and released next morning when this picture was taken.

Under info står der: "probably only the second ever Shag to be ringed in Denmark...".

(O. Helms)."

Beskrivelse: September 16, 1987, Blaavand Bird Observatory warden Sune Jepsen had brief views without binoculars of an odd warbler in the bird
observatory garden. He thought it looked like a Booted Warbler.
Later the same day the bird was trapped and ringed and identified as a Booted Warbler. The bird remained in the area until September 21.
Beskrivelse: The 'booted warbler' ringed at Blaavand.
September 16, 1987, Blaavand Bird Observatory warden Sune Jepsen had brief views without binoculars of an odd warbler in the bird
observatory garden. He thought it looked like a Booted Warbler.
Later the same day the bird was trapped and ringed and identified as a Booted Warbler. The bird remained in the area until September 21.
At the time it was identified, nobody thought of the possibility that it might have been a Syke's Warbler Hippolais (caligata) rama. With the recent discussion of the Booted Warbler at Nexoe, Bornholm, October 16, 2001, observers of the Blaavand bird are very interested in comments about the identity of the Blaavand bird.
Comments on the Blaavand bird should be sent to netfugl@netfugl.dk.
